Vacation after a long time

All my vacations have always been roaming around in hectic pace to cover all the places of interest. But this time, should be the first time i suppose, was really a vacation of sorts. There was never any pressure of covering things at its entirety and everything was done at its own pace. I can now understand the confused look on my client's face when i say i am really tired after a three day trip. They could never understand how some one could ever get tired on a vacation, may be its like saying 'I am hungry' after a buffet lunch! The best part was when i said i covered Yellow stone National park in 3 days while the previous month my client had taken 15 days to cover it. I am an Indian in a western continent and i am programmed to do things a specific way.

Anyways, Niagara and Toronto were on the agenda last weekend and vacation couldn't have been better. The climate was great with great sunshine, in fact bordering on hot but who cares, nice view of the falls and got a chance to take all the rides available there. The exciting bit of the falls visit was the fireworks show late in the evening and was excellent when it happened over the falls. Toronto was a stand out, we did not take the conventional route of just checking out the most popular places, instead we decided to explore the downtown by foot. Though Toronto cannot boast of the concrete grandeur of NYC, it still had mix of high rise buildings and towers.

They have a poor man's version of Times square called the Dundas square on Yonge St(Supposed to be the longest street) which is claimed to be the heart of Toronto. The harbor front on the Lake Ontario shore was an awesome place to spend the evening, we even rented a bike to pedal around the shore which was a unique experience. Heard the shoreline is exciting and lively only for three months in the entire year during summer, winter times in Toronto are dull and boring as it is in any other city with summer/winter extremities.

Well, in the end it was three days well spent and i can take a break from planning for the next 2 to 3 long weekends :-)
